Portrait of Teresa is a classic Cuban film that portrays the problems women face under the revolution. The film looks at the everyday tensions and stresses a Cuban mother and wife faces as she juggles her job in a textile factory with working as assistant director for her union’s dance troupe and looking after her three young sons and husband - everything becomes too much and Teresa begins to realise there must be more to life than this.
Our guest speaker is Ann Cross, who is the organizer of the Cuban Film Festival that comes to Brighton every year.
